Food


 

Excellent food; BBQs, fresh crab, fish and the highlight of the week eating at the 2009 Master Chef winner's new restaurant the Wild Garlic in Beaminster. Matt Follas opened four weeks ago and judging by our experience, the modest final bill and the quality of food  The Wild Garlic should become a top destination on the food map of the south-west. The food was simple, authentic and superbly cooked from fresh local ingredients. The restaurant was unpretentious with excellent service. Jill's lamb was the best she has tasted and my John Dory was stunning. Had a good chat with Matt, after the meal,who shared his techniques for cooking the loin of lamb. He also spoke openly about his journey from amateur cook to Master Chef Winner and planted the seed of going on cooking course to further my skills in the kitchen.
